Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch

The Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program helps consumers and  businesses choose seafood that is fished or farmed in ways that protect sea life and habitats, now and for future generations. Their recommendations suggest which seafood items are “Best Choices,” “Good Alternatives,” and what seafood to “Avoid.”

It is our goal to help Seafood Watch raise public awareness about sustainable issues through consumer guides, customer education, and proper ratings displayed on all seafood in house.

National Fisheries Institute

Euclid Fish Company was a charter member of National Fisheries Institute. The NFI is a non-profit organization dedicated to education about seafood safety, sustainability, and nutrition. NFI promotes the US Dietary Guidelines that suggest Americans include fish and shellfish in their diets twice per week for longer, healthier lives.

NFI and its members are committed to sustainable management of our oceans and being stewards of our environment by endorsing the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Fisheries. Our investment in our oceans today will provide our children and future generations the health benefits of a plentiful supply of fish and seafood tomorrow.

From responsible aquaculture, to a marketplace supporting free trade, to ensuring the media and consumers have the facts about the health benefits of fish and shellfish, NFI and its members support and promote sound public policy based on ground truth science.

Future Leaders Program of National Fisheries Institute

The Future Leaders program is a unique hands-on program for industry professionals who are rising in their companies. No other setting combines this kind of in-depth exposure to such a diversity of issues along with the opportunity to network and learn with a small group of industry peers representing the leaders of today and tomorrow. Each session is designed to enhance knowledge and leadership skills in the areas of government relations, production, sales, marketing and the industry in general, all while traveling to multiple locations. Some include production facilities, farm tours, processing plants, culinary events and a day on the hill in Washington, D.C.  Euclid Fish was honored to send three team members through the program.

Better Seafood Board

The Better Seafood Board (BSB) was formed in 2007 to support the commitment of National Fishery Institute members to abide by industry principles of economic integrity by not selling seafood that is short in weight or count, that has the wrong name, or that has been transshipped from one country to another to circumvent duties and tariffs. Euclid Fish is proud to currently have two team members involved with the Better Seafood Board.
